About Tim White
Founder TBMS
TBMS Founder Tim White has an unusual combination of natural building design experience, hands-on natural building experience, natural product development work, a background in science, and a passion for engineering, and a deep desire to understand how and why natural building materials work.
Tim has worked in the natural building field and on the expansion of Natural building materials for the last 12 years. He holds BAs in Biology and Anthropology, which he incorporates into the development of earth friendly building materials. His passion for earth friendly products drives his commitment to bring them into mainstream construction.
For 2 1/2 Years, Tim was Product Development Manager for American Clay Enterprises, which produces interior earth plasters. During his time with American Clay Enterprises he helped the company to expand the American Clay interior earth plaster line, create a natural binder (Mud Glue) for ACE Earth Plasters and expand their training program.
Also during that time, Tim White refined his previous research with Lime-Pozzolan blends. This reaction creates Roman Cement, a natural, lime-based cement based on the long-lost recipe used with astounding success by the Roman Empire. Based on the research by the American engineer who put together the missing pieces, Tim developed the first 100% American made commercial lime stucco mix.
Prior to this, Tim was the owner of a natural building construction company that built with only natural materials. During that time his company was able to build affordable homes that were not only energy efficient, but 80% of the materials came from with in 200 miles of the construction site. These homes are meeting the 2030 Architecture Challenges today.
Before becoming a natural builder TBMS Founder Tim White was a resident naturalist and developed curriculum for outdoor education programs, wilderness and cultural imersion courses and was a Montessori preschool teacher.
